Paul H. "Cotton" Kaschalk Obituary

KASCHALK – Paul “Cotton”, 81, of Mineral Point, passed away March 28, 2024 at his beloved farm with the love of his life, Nancy, at his side. Paul was born April 16, 1942 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Henry Edward and Eleanor Elizabeth Kaschalk. Preceded in death by his sister, Eleanor; and brother, Thomas David. Survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Nancy Catherine; children, Sandra (Matthew) Markley; Michael; Brenda (Roger) Rech; Angela (Matthew) Twoey; and Melissa Kaschalk; 11 grandchildren: Christopher (Meg), Cameron, Nathan, Carly, Aaron (Chelsea), Matthew, Sarah, Maria, John, Benjamin and Reese. Also survived by his sister, Catherine (Robert) Miller; and sister in law, Barbara Kaschalk. Paul was a graduate of Blacklick Valley High School in Nanty Glo.  Employed by Miller Picking and then went on to be an avid entrepreneur and business owner of several local businesses, including Ebensburg Health Club and Wellness Center, and MEC Chemicals, Inc.  Paul enjoyed raising beagles, hunting, fishing, and camping with his wife Nancy and family. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Monday at Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Nanty Glo, where funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Deacon and friend, Thomas Buige, officiating. A family luncheon will follow the service at the Imperial Room in Ebensburg. The family would like to thank all of the support and services of Penn Hospice as well as their care, concern and gentleness in the last weeks of Paul’s life.
