Dorothy Jean Rummel Obituary

RUMMEL – Dorothy Jean, 83, of Strongstown, passed away April 14, 2024. Born Feb. 25, 1941 in Colver, daughter of the late Herman and Ellen Krug. Preceded in death by granddaughter, Nicole Gearhart; daughter in law, Marcy Rummel; and sister, Donna Silich. Survived by her husband Tyson to whom she was married for 62 years and children, Angela (Ron) Orndorff; Joe Rummel; Dorothy (Tom) Rickert; Jody Nancollas; Dave (Bonnie) Rummel; and Paul Rummel. 12 Grandchildren 17 Great Grandchildren. Also survived by sisters, Leona Kruper; Janice Kruper; Maryann (Robert) Slippy; and several nieces and nephews. A devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother, she enjoyed spending time with her family. Dorothy showed a loving kindness to everyone she met. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Friends will be received from 12 p.m. until time of funeral service at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Nanty Glo, the Rev. Leonard Voytek, officiating.
