BRACKEN – James, Jr., 66, of Nanty Glo, passed away June 24, 2024 at Select Specialty. Born April 27, 1958 in Johnstown. Preceded in death by his father, James Bracken, Sr.; brother Thomas; and infant brother, Timothy. Survived by his mother, Florence (Ponchione) Bracken; his wife, Jean Bracken, to whom he was married for 6 years; children, Nathan, Maia and Seth. Brother of Daniel Paul (Sandy) Bracken; Sandra (Craig) Cunningham; and Karen (Joseph) Casper; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Nanty Glo, where he served as usher. Administrator of Cambria County Drug and Alcohol. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Thursday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Nanty Glo.  Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Mary’s Church, the Rev. Leonard Voytek, celebrant. Committal, St. Mary’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jim’s memory may be made to the American Cancer Society.
