Obituary of Robert Haden George

Robert “Bobby” Haden George, 66, of Newark, Ohio, formerly of Ebensburg.  passed away July 9, 2024 at home.  Born in Ebensburg, PA on January 10, 1958 to late Harry G. and Eleanor (Haden) George. Bobby was a graduate of Central Cambria High School. He worked at the family grocery store during his youth and early adulthood.   Bobby and his Mother moved to the Newark area in 2000 to join his sister Charlotte. Bobby saw the wealth of opportunities that were available in Licking County.   He was active in Newark Kiwanis Aktion Club, took piano lessons and was a loyal SPARK participant. He looked forward to the time he spent in the Behavioral Healthcare Partners, Compeer Group. Many people will remember Bobby from his service at the at Ross’ Granville Market for the past 5-6 years. He was an animal lover and enjoyed taking care of the neighborhood birds.   The family would especially like to thank Bill Godwin of Zanesville for introducing Bobby to the countless opportunities. Bill encouraged Bobby to participate in the activities in Licking County area.   Bobby is survived by his three sisters, Charlotte Kulp of Newark, Ohio, Marilyn (Jim) Kulp of Radnor, Ohio and Julie Martucci of Columbus, Ohio; three nieces, Alexandra, Jennifer and Malorie, all of Grove City area, and cousins, and many of his friends.

A memorial gathering will be held from 4-6 p.m. on Friday, July 19 at The Heath Chapel of Henderson-Van Atta-Stickle Funeral & Cremation Service, 1249 Hebron Road, Heath.   A celebration of life and interment will be held in Ebensburg, at a later date to be determined.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Newark Kiwanis Aktion Club or Licking County Developmental Disabilities in Bobby’ memory.
