FUNYAK – Philip M., 86, of Nanty Glo, passed away Oct. 23, 2024. Born Nov. 17, 1937 in Nanty Glo, son of the late Joseph and Mary (Dropcho) Funyak. Preceded in death by brothers, Joseph, Lawrence and Edward; and sisters, Barbara and Sr. Mary Beth. Survived by his wife, the former Irene Molnar, to whom he was married for 51 years; sister, Florence Bender; and numerous nieces and nephews.  Member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Nanty Glo. US Army veteran. Retired from the Ford Motor Co., Ohio. Philip was an avid golfer, loved traveling; and attending family functions with his wife, Irene. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Sunday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Nanty Glo. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday at St. Mary’s Church, the Rev. Kevin Queally, TOR, celebrant. Committal, St. Mary’s Cemetery. Military Rite by Blacklick Valley Ritual Team.
