Obituary of Barry L. Fetzer

FETZER – Barry L. “Bear”, 76, of Vintondale, passed away Oct. 23, 2024. Born Feb. 2, 1948 in Johnstown, son of the late Dean and Betty (Sullinger) Fetzer.  Preceded in death by daughter in law, Erica. Survived by wife, Debra; children, Tawnya (Bruce) Hess; Carey (Russ Naugle) Cole; and Christopher (Jordan Lodolinski) Fetzer. Grandchildren, Courtney, Sarah, Kyle, Hailey, Brady, Tyler, Hannah, Halaina and Wesson. Great Grandchildren, Luna and Asher. Also survived by sisters, Shirley Fetzer; and Diane Holcomb; brothers, Ricky (Connie); Ronald (Lois); Kevin; Randy; and Scott. Longtime friend, Helen “Jo” McDowell and her children and grandchildren; and Barry’s many nieces, nephews and friends. Barry graduated from Central Cambria High School. He was a Marine Corp. veteran. He loved music, especially Bluegrass, and played at local festivals. He loved camping, fishing, hunting and spending time with his family; and he loved his dog, Wyatt, who accompanied him on his journeys. Barry will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Monday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Nanty Glo, where funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Pastor Geno Bartoletti, officiating.
