Obituary of Edna G. Donaldson

DONALDSON – Edna G., 98, of Vintondale, went to be with the Lord Dec. 20, 2024. Born April 18, 1926 in Slickville, daughter of the late Harry S. and Margaret (Johns) Pierce. Preceded in death by husband, Willard J. Donaldson; brothers, Glenn, Edgar, Floyd, Leonard, Joseph, Blair and Ken; sisters, Zelma Kelly and Betty Pacific; and children, Kenneth and Samuel. Last surviving member of her immediate family. Survived by children, Tess (Charles) Walker; Harry Donaldson; Rita Donaldson; Bo (Kathy) Donaldson; Jane (Emil) Marines; Donna Mazey; and Betty Kay (Dave) Ragno. Also survived by 36 grandchildren and step grandchildren; 49 great grandchildren and step great grandchildren; 3 step great great grandchildren; sister in law, Mary Ann Smith; and numerous nieces and nephews. Member of First Baptist Church of Nanty Glo. Edna enjoyed needle pointing. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends. A special thank you to Dr. Jean Marie Koh for her loving care. Family viewing will be on Monday from 10 a.m. followed by a brief prayer service at 11 a.m. at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Nanty Glo, Pastor Geno Bartoletti, officiating. Interment, Bethel Cemetery. A Celebration of the Life of Edna Donaldson is being planned for Friday Jan. 3 at First Baptist Church of Nanty Glo from 10:30 until service time at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Edna’s memory may be made to her church or to Vintondale Fire Company.
