GILLIN - Lucy E. (Grove), 95, Nanty Glo, went to be with the Lord on Feb. 21, 2007. Born July 28, 1911 in Johnstown, daughter of the late Aden and Mary Ellen (Brown) Grove. Preceded in death by husband, Orville Gillin; son, Orville Keith Gillin; brother, Carl Frantz; and sisters, Edith Parks, Minnie Gillin and Ruth Varner. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Survived by daughters, Delores, and husband, Paul Hill, Vinco, and Karen, and husband, Jim Brown, Richland; eight grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren. Member of Singer Hill Grace Brethren Church. Lucy enjoyed cooking and baking, and was especially famous for her chocolate cake. She will be sadly missed by her family. It was Lucy's request that there will be no viewing; however, a memorial service in honor of her life will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes Inc., Nanty Glo, the Rev. Marvin E. Lowery officiating. Interment, Forest Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Lucy's memory may be made to her church.
