AVERI – John G., 76, of Mundys Corner, passed away June 19, 2009 at Memorial Medical Center. Born July 23, 1932 in Nanty Glo, son of the late Dominick and Catherine (Kanish) Averi. Preceded in death by infant daughter, Jennifer Lynn; and sister Dora Leach. Survived by wife of 50 years, Esther (Davis) Averi and children, Greg; Gary (Brenda); and Terri Lynn (Scott) Priestley. Grandchildren, Alyson and Alan Averi; Lawson, Grayson, and Hudson Priestley. Brother of Dominic and James Averi; and Elaine Close; and many nieces and nephews. John was a Marine and worked for 30 years with the US Post Office in Johnstown. Friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8 pm Monday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Nanty Glo, where funeral service will be held 11 am Tuesday, Deacon Tom Buige, officiating. Interment, St. Mary’s Cemetery, Nanty Glo.
