Holby - Harold, 80, of Strongstown, died December 16, 2006 at St. Andrew's Village, Indiana. Born October 21, 1926 in Indiana County, son of the late George Franklin and Sarah (Geesey) Holby. Last surviving member of his immediate family, he is preceded in death by his wife, the former Dorothy Ellen Roles, brothers: Dallas, Edgar, Boyd, Ray, A. Dale, and Doyle Holby. Survived by children: Roger, married to the former Diane Waldron, Nanty Glo; Carol, wife of Harry Sleppy, Penn Run; Thomas, married to the former Karen Lyttle, Nanty Glo; Mary Ellen Holby, California; Kenneth, married to the former Julie Palchesko, Clymer; 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Retired motorman for Bethlehem Mine #32, Revloc and member of UMWA Local 860. A World War II Army veteran and life member of Twin Rocks VFW Friends will be received from 2-4 & 7-9 pm, Monday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Nanty Glo, where a funeral service will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday, the Rev. John Swanger, officiating. Interment at Belsano United Methodist Cemetery. Flag Presentation and Military Rites by local veteran's organizations. In lieu of flowers, donations in Harold's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, envelopes available at the funeral home.
