Krupa - Edward, 65, Sterling Avenue, Nanty Glo, passed away July 13, 2005 at home. Born June 4, 1940 in Twin Rocks, son of the late Michael and Caroline (Zeglen) Krupa. Preceded in death by brothers Joe, Walter, and Frank Krupa; and sisters, Pearl Myncha and Patricia Mehalko. Survived by wife of 42 years, Barbara (Phillips) Krupa and these children: Laurie Ellen, and husband Glenn Pierce; Helen Jean, and husband Larry Lindsey, all of Maryland; Carol Lynn, and husband Joe Zeglen, Nanty Glo; Tyler James Krupa, and wife Tracey, Virginia; and Rachel Ann (Krupa) Miller, Johnstown. Also nine grandchildren. Brother of Mike Krupa, Twin Rocks; John Krupa, Florida; Rose Haynes, Georgia; Helen Cumberland, Virginia; and Barbara Krupa, Idaho. Member of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Nanty Glo. Retired security guard for Torrance State Hospital with 12 years of service, and formerly employed by Florence Mining Company for many years. An Army veteran, he had served in the 101st Airborne Division. Ed enjoyed hunting, fishing and tending to his garden. He will long be remembered for his craftsmanship in woodworking.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., Friday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Nanty Glo, where a vigil prayer service will be held. Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m., Saturday at St. Mary's Church, the Rev. Fr. David S. Peles, celebrant. Committal at St. Marys Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Ed's memory may be made to the ALS Foundation.
