Obituary of Blanche Strenko

STRENKO - Blanche (Toth), 94, of Ebensburg, passed away January 21, 2007 at Good Samaritan, where she died peacefully in her sleep following cancer surgery, a stroke and pneumonia. Born May 23, 1912 in Strongstown, daughter of the late Frank and Esther (Toth) Toth. Last surviving member of her immediate family. Preceded in death by husband John, after a union of 61 years, eight children, great grandson Michael at age 21, son in law Bill and daughter in law Gaye. Survived by daughters, Mary Ann (Lester) Schaible, of New Jersey and Jean Bucci, of Belsano. Grandchildren Tom (Mary), Jim (Nancy), Carol (Lonnie), Andy (Donna), Linda (Dave) Richard (Beth), Sharon (Kenny), Lori (Mark), Jennifer (Jeremy) and Jeff. 23 Great Grandchildren and 2 Great Great Grandchildren. Also survived by very special nieces, nephews and friends. Member of Church of the Resurrection, formerly St. John the Baptist Church, Heilwood. Member of Nanty Glo and Ebensburg Senior Citizens, where she was a member of the "Angels" performing group, and was a former avid bingo player and loved to travel. Friends will be received from 2-9 pm on Tuesday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Nanty Glo, where vigil prayer service will be held. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at noon on Wednesday at Church of the Resurrection, the Rev. Douglas E. Dorula, celebrant. Committal at St. Patricks Cemetery, Camerons Bottom.
