ROSE - Benjamin W. "Ben," 71, of Nanty Glo, passed away Aug. 12, 2005, at home. Born Feb. 6, 1934, in Jackson Township, son of the late Ralph L. and Alleda T. (Rummell) Rose. Preceded in death by wife, Eleanor M. Rose; daughter, Hope Ann Rose; brother, Max Lynn; and nieces, Deborah L. and Janice F. Sheehan. Survived by children, Randy Rose; Martin Rose; Jayne, and husband, Todd March; and Judy Rose, and grandchildren, Benjamin, Gina, Anthony, Crystal, Alethea, Olivia and Jared. Brother of Mardell, and husband, Clyde Sheehan; Clark R., and wife, Jeanne (Bowman) Rose; Russell R., and wife, Ann (Southard) Rose; and Sharlene T., and husband, Harold Rager, also numerous nieces and nephews. Retired conductor for the railroad, with nearly 40 years of service. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes Inc., Nanty Glo, where funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, the Rev. Reginald Bell, pastor emeritus Nanty Glo First Baptist Church, officiating. Interment, Pike Brethren Cemetery, Mundys Corner. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ben's memory may be made to Nanty Glo library.
