MURPHY - Jack, 73, of Mundys Corner, passed away July 31, 2006, at
Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh. Born Oct. 27, 1932, in Johnstown, son
of the late William H. and Verda (Field) Murphy. Preceded in death by
sister, Pearl, and brothers, Charles, Robert and Larry. Survived by wife
of 52 years, Sally; daughter, Janet Murphy of Florida; son, Brian, and
wife, Vicki, of Nicktown; grandchildren, Michelle, and husband, Jeff
Buterbaugh, and Breanna, Michael and Eli Murphy; and
great-grandchildren, Sarah and T.J. Buterbaugh. Member of St. Paul's
Lutheran Church, Mundys Corner. Retired with 33 years of service with
the former U.S. Steel, Johnstown. Friends will be received from 2 to 4
and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes Inc., Nanty
Glo, and from 10:30 until time of funeral service at 11 a.m. Friday at
St. Paul's Church, the Rev. Lynn M. Sanner officiating. In lieu of
flowers, donations in Jack's memory may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran
Church.
