MORGAN - Verna M. (Steele), 90, of Nanty Glo, went to be with the Lord Feb. 21, 2010 at home. Born Feb. 7, 1920 in Bolivar, daughter of the late Ross and Sarah Jane (Long) Steele. Preceded in death by husband, Lester James Morgan, brother, Blair, and sisters, Esther Strayer and Dorothy Price; and son in law, David Stanton. Survived by children, James Thomas (Joyce Goodrich) Morgan, Ebensburg; Nancy Stanton, Mundys Corner; Jean Ann Morgan and Sarah Jane Morgan, both of Nanty Glo. Grandchildren, Theresa (Michael) Smith, Nanty Glo and Daniel (Courtney) Stanton, Johnstown. Great Grandchildren, Michael, Brendon, Tiffany and Cody. Sister of James Thomas Steele, Mundys Corner;Betty Reed, North Versailles; and Melvin Steele, North Carolina; and numerous nieces and nephews. Member of Laurel Mountain Bible Church, Mundys Corner.Verna enjoyed spending time with her family. Friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8 pm on Tuesday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Nanty Glo, and from 10:30 am until time of funeral service at 11am Wednesday at Laurel Mountain Bible Church, the Rev. Randy Hildebrand, officiating. Interment EUB Cemetery, Belsano.
