KEREKES - Mary C. (Simon), 92, of Vintondale, passed away Dec. 19, 2010 at Homestead Hearth Personal Care Home, Centerville, Pa. Born Aug. 7, 1918 in Homestead, Pa, daughter of the late George and Mary (Seibert) Simon. Preceded in death by husband, George Jr.; sisters, Helen Ernhardt and Elizabeth Biondo; and brother, John. Survived by children, James; Richard (Gloria); and Charles (Dorothy). Several grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. Also survived by brothers, William (Marion); Frank (Shirley); and Joseph (Betty); sisters, Margaret Caparimo; Irene Devlin; and Goldie (William) Mack; and numerous nieces and nephews. Member of the former Sts. Timothy & Mark Catholic Churches, Vintondale and Twin Rocks. Retired aide from Ebensburg State School. Mary was an an avid card player and quilter. Friends will be received from 9:30am until time of funeral service at 11am Tuesday, Dec. 28 at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Nanty Glo, the Rev. Martin Cingle, officiating. Interment, Armagh Cemetery.
