JOHNSON - Homer M., " Crapshooter" 79, of Mundys Corner, passed away May 29, 2005 at Memorial Medical Center. Born September 10, 1925 in Nanty Glo, son of the late Edwin and Mayme (Chilcott) Johnson. Preceded in death by an infant daughter, first wife Ida Schirato Johnson, brother Thomas I. Johnson and godson Shane M. Price. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Survived by devoted wife of 43 ½ years, Marguerite (Travis) Johnson, loving daughter Kathleen "Kathy", wife of Daryl J. Landrum, Vintondale, and loving sons Richard R. and wife Louann (Lanager) Johnson, Fleming, PA; and David D. and wife Janice (Tuttle) Johnson, Lock Haven; Grandchildren Daryl J. and Ashley B. Landrum and Travis N. Johnson. Step grandsons Dave Tuttle and wife Carrie, Jeff Lanager and Clint Wagner. Step Great Grandsons Zack and Zander Tuttle. Sister in law Ruth Nipps Johnson and brother in law and sister in law John T. and Dorothy Travis; and his dog Ferbie. Also survived by numerous nieces & nephews. A 1943 graduate of the old Nanty Glo High School. US Army veteran of WW II having served with the 669 Field Artillery Bn. He was a member of UMWA, Local # 1386, L.O.O.M. # 207, American Legion Post #619, all of Nanty Glo and also Nanty Glo VFW Post #3689, where he served on the Board of Directors for 20 years. A retired coal miner and an avid Steelers and Nascar Fan.

Friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8pm Wednesday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes Inc., Nanty Glo, where funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, the Rev. Asa Sherman officiating. Interment Forest Lawn Cemetery. L.O.O.M. Memorial Service will be held at 7pm Wednesday evening at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Jackson Twp. Fire Co. or Nanty Glo Public Library in Homers memory.
