Obituary of Mary Margaret Vogatsky

VOGATSKY – Mary Margaret, 81 of Jackson Twp. passed away March 3, 2010 at Golden Living Center in Richland. Born Nov. 14, 1928 in Johnstown, daughter of the late Gabriel and Margaret (Medek) Podlucky. Preceded in death by sisters, Yolanda and Julia Podlucky and brothers, John “Fid”, Joseph, Michael and Gabriel Podlucky. Survived by husband of 56 years, John Joseph Vogatsky, Sr.; and children, Bernadette (Jeff) Peters; Barbara A. Wyrwas, both of Richland; Michael R., John B., and Eugene (Roxanne) Vogatsky, all of Johnstown; Gloria Vogatsky Denorcy, Richland; Daniel, of Clearfield; and Joseph (Julia) Vogatsky of Virginia. 9 grandchildren and one great granddaughter on the way. Also survived by her twin sister, Sr. Theresa Podlucky, of Pittsburgh at the Vincention Home; and numerous nieces and nephews. Member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church, Mundys Corner where she was a member of the Legion of Mary. An avid bingo player. A special thank you to her son Michael, who was her primary caregiver throughout her illness. Friends will be received from 6-8 pm on Friday and from 11am until noon on Saturday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Nanty Glo. Vigil prayer service will be held at the funeral home Friday evening. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1pm on Saturday at St. John Vianney Church, the Rev. Andrew Stanko, celebrant. Committal at Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Johnstown.
