CASPER - Theodore C. "Ted", 82, of Nanty Glo, passed away April 14, 2007. Born August 9, 1924 in Nanty Glo, son of the late Dennis and Agnes (Straple) Casper. Preceded in death by brothers Louis and Charles; sisters Betty and Stella. Survived by wife of 59 years, Dorothy (Tursky) Casper and children, Patti (Steve) Blashkiw, Michigan; Charles, of Johnstown; JoAnn (Larry) Hoskins, Maryland; Michael, Nanty Glo; Natalie Hamaty, Nanty Glo; and Joseph (Karen) Johnstown. Grandchildren Lisa, Heather, Scott, Larry Jr., Matthew, Teresa, Dylan, Bradley, Julienne and Kimberly. Great Grandchildren Brianna, Alexis, Audryana, Mitchell, Coen, Joseph and Nicole. Also survived by sisters, Frances, Agnes and Grace. Member of St. Marys Catholic Church, Nanty Glo. WW II Navy veteran where he was Seaman, First Class. Retired from Barnes & Tucker Coal Co. Friends will be received from 2-4 & 7-9 pm Tuesday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Nanty Glo, where vigil prayer service will be held Tuesday. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 am on Wednesday at St. Marys Church, the Rev. David S. Peles, celebrant. Committal at Holy Name Mausoleum, Ebensburg, where military rite will be held by Menocher Post 155 VFW Ritual Team.
