LOYA - Andrew J., 82, of Park Hill, passed away peacefully July 30, 2009 at Memorial Medical Center. Born December 24, 1926 in Johnstown, son of the late John J. and Barbara (Kapichok) Loya. Preceded in death by wife, the former Ellen Jane Fleming, brothers: George, John, and Michael, and sister Mary Hamas. Survived by daughter, Debra Hines, and grandchildren Christa and Michael, all of Nanty Glo. Also survived by brother Stephen Loya, of Texas. Retired from Bethlehem Steel Corp. A World War II Army veteran. Andy loved music, especially opera, and was always interested in chemistry. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and his dog "Sheeba". Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Sunday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Nanty Glo. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Monday at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, Nanty Glo, the Rev. Martin A Cingle, celrbant. Committal at Lloyd Cemetery, Ebensburg. Graveside military rites by the Menoher Post #155 VFW Ritual Team.
