GILLIN – George W., 94, of Vinco, gone home to be with the Lord, July 26, 2018, after a long illness. Born September 12, 1923 in Johnstown, son of the late Lewis and Grace (Madison) Gillin. Last surviving member of his immediate family. Preceded in death by brothers, Walter, Roy and Irvin; and sisters, Jessie Kelly and Nora Corbell. Survived by wife of 67 years, Margaret Gillin; and children, Linda (Dennis) Gillespie; Lucille (Bernard) Kordish; and George L. (Rona) Gillin. Grandchildren, Michele (Darren) Brown, Melissa (Scott) Stoltz; Susan (Brian) Morris; Renee (Todd) Powell, Roxanne (Christopher) Miloro, Dr. Amanda (Jason) Gillespie-Twardy, Amber Harvey and Monica Gillin. 19 Great Grandchildren and 2 Great Great Grandchildren. Member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church, Mundys Corner. Retired from Bethlehem Steel with 32 years of service. Life member Jackson Twp. Volunteer Fire Company. Member Conemaugh PNA Horseshoe League and Nanty Glo Polish Club. At the family’s request there will be no viewing. Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday at St. John Vianney Church, the Rev. Andrew R. Draper, TOR, Loretto, celebrant. Committal, Holy Name Mausoleum, Ebensburg. In lieu of flowers, donations in George’s memory may be made to the Alzheimers Association. Arrangements by the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Nanty Glo.
