PUTMAN – Grace, 89, of Nicktown, went to be with the Lord on Nov. 21, 2011. Born May 31, 1922 in Clymer. Preceded in death by parents, Elzie and Margaret; brothers, Regis, Donald, Clifton and Lewis; sister, Betty; daughter in law, Judy; sisters in law, Delores and Gladys; and brother in law, Fred. Survived by husband, Ralph, of 68 years; and children, Larry; Donald (Geneva); Robin (Dawn), all of Texas; and Barbara (Dwight) Stephens, of Nicktown. 13 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Also survived by brothers, Kenneth (Sherry) and Raymond (Nancy); and sister, Lola (Ron); and numerous nieces and nephews. Lifetime member of Mt. Union E.U.B. Church, Alverda, where she was a youth group leader and was active in the Missionary Ladies. Former member of Belsano Civic Group and Nicktown Grange. Sarah Coventry representative. Devoted military wife. Grace enjoyed gardening and traveling; and loved her family. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. on Saturday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Nanty Glo, where funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Pastor John Bennett, officiating. Interment, Pineland Cemetery, Strongstown. In lieu of flowers, donations in Grace’s memory may be made to The American Cancer Society or The American Red Cross.
