STEPHENS - Bernard A. “Bun”, 84, of Rebekah Manor, Ebensburg, formerly of Nanty Glo, passed away Jan. 27, 2018, surrounded by his loving family. Born Oct. 25, 1933 in Strongstown, son of the late James, Sr. and Viola (Orner) Stephens. Preceded in death by brother, Russell Orner. Survived by wife of 60 years, the former Janet E. Hibbard; and sons, Bernard J. (Mary A.) Stephens; and Mark A. (Kimberly S.) Stephens. Grandchildren, Amanda (Zachary) Peachey, Jeffrey (fiancé, Jess) Stephens and Russell Stephens. Great Grandchildren, Cameron and Madison Stephens. Also survived by brother, James, Jr. (Nancy) Stephens. Member of Nanty Glo United Methodist Church. Retired from Bethlehem Mines # 33 with more than 30 years of service. Member UMWA. Bun enjoyed fishing at the river and camping; and working in his garage. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6 -8 p.m. on Tuesday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Nanty Glo, where funeral service will be held at 11 a.m.Wednesday, Pastor Bill Warrick, officiating. Interment, Pineland Cemetery, Strongstown.
