O’FARRELL – Mary “Toots”, 91, of Nanty Glo, passed away April 2, 2013 at Rebekah Manor, Ebensburg. Born April 14, 1921 in Wehrum, daughter of the late Anthony and Mary Masarik. Preceded in death by husband, Frederick J. O’Farrell, Sr.; 3 infant children; sons, William Patrick (Vietnam) and Frederick; and sister, Anne Deetscreek. Survived by daughter, Sharon and husband Joseph Kanich; 5 Grandchildren and 9 Great Grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Nanty Glo; Legion of Mary; A Gold Star Mother. Mary was a very generous person. She enjoyed her family, shopping and caring for her home. Friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. on Thursday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Nanty Glo, where vigil prayer service will be held. Funeral Mass at 10a.m. on Friday at St. Mary’s Church, the Rev. Martin Cingle, celebrant. Committal, St. Mary’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mary’s memory may be made to Rebekah Manor Activities Fund.
