FINDLEY - Dean Edward Sr., 74, of Vintondale, passed away Jan. 30, 2006, at Memorial Medical Center, Main Campus. Born Aug. 16, 1931, in Johnstown, son of the late Archie Matthew Findley Sr. and Floyd Dora (Shaffer). Preceded in death by wife, Ingeborg Elfriede (Domann) Findley; grandson, Adam Hoy Findley; sisters, Ruth Mack and Mildred Findley; and brother, Raymond Findley. Survived by children, Dean Findley Jr., David Findley, both of Vintondale; Roger Findley of Houtzdale; Betty (Edward) Straub of Maryland; and Cindy Findley and Frank Skibo of Ebensburg; grandchildren, Eddie, Diana, Kaycee, Becky and Frankie. Brother of Gayle Gruber of Vintondale; Archie (Marilyn) Findley of Maryland; Doris (Don) Shirk of Vintondale; Lee (Mary) Findley of Seward; Kenneth (Rosie) Findley of Johnstown; Gene (Veda) Findley of Vintondale; and Carole (Art) Marsh of Ebensburg. U.S. Army veteran. Member of Ebensburg VFW. Retired in 1985 from Bethlehem Steel Corp., Johnstown. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes Inc., Nanty Glo, where funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, the Rev. John H. Snyder officiating. Interment, Benshoff Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Dean's memory may be made to his family.
