MOOSE – James P., 82, of Nanty Glo, passed away Oct. 13, 2012 at home. Born April 19, 1930 in East Wheatfield Twp., son of the late Percy and Viola (Mack) Moose. Preceded in death by sister, Dolores Grow; and brother, Billy Moose. Survived by his wife, of 50 years, the former Hilda Jean Walsh; and children, Ricky Moose; Linda (Allen) Russell; and Joyce (Earl) Hockenberry. Grandchildren, Rick Lyttle, Jodi (Moose) Hartman, Shaina Moose; Jessica, Kelli, Christi and Jennifer Russell; Kimberley and Kaitlyn Hockenberry. 10 Great Grandchildren; as well as his sister, Jean Frampton. Attended Nanty Glo First Baptist Church. US Army veteran during the Korean Conflict. Lifetime member of Nanty Glo VFW Post 3489 and member of Ebensburg American Legion Post 363 with 48 years of continuous service. Retired from Central Transportation, where he was a school bus driver. Formerly employed by Haws Refractories, Johnstown for 20 years; and Old Home Manor Strip Mine for 10 years. Friends will be received from 5-8 p.m. Monday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Nanty Glo, where funeral service will be held at 11a.m. on Tuesday, Pastor Geno Bartoletti, officiating. Interment, Pike Brethren Cemetery. Military rite will be held at 7 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home by local veterans organizations.
