SAJKO - Frances J. (Hartman), 67 of William Penn Avenue, Johnstown, passed away peacefully August 14, 2009 at home, surrounded by her loving family. Born October 5, 1941 in Johnstown daughter of the late Francis J. and Jane Ellen Shaner (Eves) Hartman. Preceded in death by daughter Sherry Ann Sajko, niece Christy Dino, and nephew Michael Melius. Survived by daughters, Kimberly Torina, Ebensburg and Heidi Benson, Altoona; and six grandchildren and one great grandchild. Sister of Barbara Dino, Gretchen Melius, Bernice (Andy) Dishong-Mackanick, Rose Mary (Jack) Epperson, Beatrice Hartman, half brothers David and Ricky (Mary) Eves. A member of St. John Vianney Roman Catholic Church, where she had served as a Eucharistic Minister and enjoyed volunteering in the church kitchen and youth group. Retired from Laurel Crest Manor. Fran enjoyed crocheting and crafts, taking walks, spending time with her grandkids, and enjoying the outdoors in her flower garden. There will be no viewing, but all are invited to share in the Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday at St. John Vianney Church, the Rev. Andrew C. Stanko, celebrant. Committal at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Nanty Glo. Memorial contributions in Fran’s memory may be made to St. John Vianney Church. Arrangements by Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Nanty Glo.
