MARHEFKA - James R., Sr., 75, of Jackson Twp., passed away Oct. 15, 2014 at home. Born May 18, 1939 in Windber, son of the late Matthew J. and Mary Angeline (Henry) Marhefka. Survived by wife, of 50 years, the former Donna Howie; and children, James, Jr. (Karen) Marhefka; David Marhefka; Gayle (Gary) Devlin; and Keith (Jenn) Marhefka. Grandchildren, Kaitlyn (Matt) Hetrick; Stephen Marhefka; Olivia Marhefka; Morgan and Dylan Devlin; Tommy, Matthew and Sofie Marhefka. Also survived by brother, Bernard (Naomi) Marhefka; and sister, Mary Kathleen "Kathy" DeYulis; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Had attended Singer Hill Grace Brethren Church. Retired mechanic from Bethlehem Steel Corp. Owner / Operator of Marhefka Excavating. Former Cubmaster Pack 204. Jim loved to travel and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. on Sunday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Nanty Glo, where funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Monday, Pastor Drew Walther, officiating. Interment to follow at Lloyd Cemetery, Ebensburg. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jim's memory may be made to Jackson Twp. Vol. Fire Co.
