BROWN – Robert C., Jr., 68, Mundys Corner, passed into the arms of his Lord and Savior, surrounded by his family on January 9, 2016 after a courageous 1 ½ year battle with cancer. Born June 1, 1947 in Johnstown, son of Robert C. and Nellie (Carmel) Brown. Last surviving member of his immediate family, he is preceded in death by father, mother, and brother Tom Brown. Survived by loving wife of 47 years, Sandi, of Mundy’s Corner; daughter Stacy (Doug) Weigel, Vinco; son Darren (Michele) Brown, Vinco; grandchildren: Tyler Weigel and Abby Brown; and special sister-in-law Sharon (Brown) Roles. Bob loved and adored his grandchildren. Loved spending time with them and his children. Bob loved going to the beach with his family and taking his granddaughter to Chincoteague Island. He enjoyed going to his grandsons swim meets and granddaughters cheer competitions. Bob was a 1965 graduate of Central Cambria High School and attended Cambria-Rowe Business College. He worked for Bethlehem Steel from 1966-1993 and Johnstown Wire Technologies from 1994 until his retirement in April 2014. Bob loved bowling, fishing with his son, biking, and taking walks in the area. He also loved walking on the beach. Bob will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He is celebrating with Jesus now. Friends will be received from 4 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Nanty Glo, where a funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, Pastor Rudy Sheptock, III, officiating. Entombment at Richland Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bob’s memory may be made to the Pike Grace Brethren Church in Mundy’s Corner or to the Windber Hospice.
