Obituary of Sally Ann Thomas

THOMAS – Sally Ann, 83, of Nanty Glo, took her journey home on Nov. 30, 2017. Born on July 5, 1934 to David and Mabel (Caldwell) Moody. She was the middle child. Her brothers, Donald and David have already completed their journey home. Sally married Jack on May 23, 1953, and celebrated 64 years of wedding bliss. They lived a simple life in Nanty Glo, where they raised three sons, William, Dale and Douglas. Sally’s three granddaughters were her joy. Elizabeth, of Scottdale, Va., who graduated from IUP in 2012 and is working for S & P Global; Grace, of Nicktown, who graduated from IUP in 2014, and is working for Blacklick Valley School District as an art teacher. She is married to Dennis Farabaugh and they have a son, Leo, great grandmas little buddy; and Kimberly, who graduated from Blacklick Valley High School, is working in childcare, and expecting a baby boy in the Spring of 2018. Sally was a caregiver. She gave of herself to others. Her life will be forever celebrated through her great grandsons. She enjoyed packing shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child. She had special friends at Senior Life that have been an important part of her later years. A special thank you to friends, members of Senior Life, the staff at Conemaugh Hospital and Pine Grove Church of God for all your support and prayers. A Life Celebration will be held on Sunday Dec. 3 at 6:30 p.m. at Pine Grove Church of God, Route 240, Cherry Tree. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Operation Christmas Child, 397 Goodridge Road, Northern Cambria, Pa. 15714. Arrangements are in care of the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Nanty Glo.
