BRUBAKER – Elwood G., 91, of Mundys Corner, passed away May 6, 2018. Born Jan. 9, 1927 in Carson Valley, son of the late Ord and Lista (Hoover) Brubaker. Preceded in death by wife, Daisy; brothers, Elvin, Regis and Brice; and sister, Reta, who died during childhood. Survived by children, Jennie; Judy (George) Cressley; and James. 5 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Also survived by brother, Clifford; and sister, Nova; and numerous nieces and nephews. Longtime employee of Sinclair Oil Co., which was later bought by British Petroleum. Elwood was an avid gardener, who enjoyed sharing the produce with numerous friends. He was also an avid hunter and enjoyed fishing in his younger years. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Nanty Glo. Private service and burial at Carson Valley Cemetery in Duncansville, will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations are asked to be made to a charity of your choice.
