KIVISTO - David J., 65, of Vinco, died June 18, 2006 at Memorial Medical Center. Born August 16, 1940 in Johnstown, son of the late Emil and Mary (Kuftic) Kivisto. Survived by wife, of 42 years, the former Madeline Donely and children, David and wife Mary (Lazeration), of Nanty Glo; Marie and husband Tom Polka; John Kivisto, both of Vinco; Melissa and husband Gregory Blake, of Virginia and Sonya Kivisto, of Carlisle. Also survived by sister, Emily Mazman, of Michigan and Pap Pap's beloved grandchildren, D.J. and Michael Kivisto, Lauren Di Bacco, Brianna and Danika Polka and Joel Blake. Employed as Supervisor with Cambria County Assoc. for the Blind and Handicapped. David enjoyed spending time with family, especially his grandchildren. Friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-9 pm on Tuesday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc, Nanty Glo, where vigil prayer service will be held. Funeral Mass at 10am on Wednesday at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, Mundys Corner, the Rev. Paul Robine, celebrant. Committal at Holy Name Cemetery, Ebensburg. In lieu of flowers donations in David's memory may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
