TEETER - Violet M., 96, of Jackson Twp., went to be with the Lord June 10, 2014. Born March 18, 1918 in Croyle Twp., daughter of the late John Earl and Annie (Ford-Sawyer) Shaffer. Preceded in death by husband, Loy A. Teeter; brothers, Chester Sawyer and Ralph Shaffer; and sister, Ruth (Shaffer) Moore. Survived by daughter, Barbara Teeter; and son, Ronald (Kathleen) Teeter. Grandson, Michael (Corrin) Teeter; and Great Grandson, Weston Loy Teeter. Also survived by sister in law, Doris Shaffer; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Member of Pike Grace Brethren Church, Mundys Corner, where she served in various capacities. Member of Jackson Twp. Senior Center. Friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. on Thursday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Nanty Glo, and from 10:30 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11 a.m. on Friday at Pike Grace Brethren Church, Pastor Rudy Sheptock, officiating. Interment, Pike Brethren Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, family suggests contributions to Miners Community Food Pantry, P.O. Box 153, Nanty Glo PA 15943 -or- Pike Grace Brethren Church Mission Fund, 541 Pike Rd., Johnstown PA 15909. "...Absent from the body...present with the Lord." II Cor. 5:8
