Mr. Bloom was always a kind person while I was growing up. We belonged to the same church and I met him, his wife and children while attending church. He always had a kind word and showed the love of God every time I saw him. He and his wife were friends with my parents, Jean and Lawrence Jones) until their passing. My deepest sympathy is extended to his family and friends.

Dick was always a friend to me and graciously welcomed me into his home during hunting season. I learned more from Dick about hunting whitetail deer than any one else. He would tease me when I missed the shot, " You southern boys can't shoot". Riding in the back of his pickup during hunting drives was an adventure. He and Alice was a member of the greatest generation that ever lived and people of integrity. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family. My life was enriched knowing Dick. As Christians we don't have to say goodbye, rather because of the cross, we can say until we meet again

So sorry at Dick's passing. I learned a great deal following in his foot steps in the woods. He taught me the signs and I was always amazed at his knowledge and understanding of what the Deer were going to do next. We had a running joke between us and about the North and South Civil War. On one of my first hunting trips to PA. Dick posted me at the end of the "Night Pasture" in the open field. He put me there because he said "The Va Boy said he can shoot" or so I had said. I was more than eager to prove myself and waaaay to confident. Sure enough, a beautiful LARGE 8 point Buck came out stopped, and I smiled thinking of what a great mount that was going to make me. As the gun cracked imagine my surprise when it took off running over Doc and Sharon's hill. I fired 4 more shots before it disappeared out of sight. First person out was Dick who helped me search in vane for any sign of blood which I never found. As I stood at the top of the hill looking down at the woods close to tears Dick came up and put his hand on my shoulder and said "I know now how you guys lost that war now". Holding back tears I had to laugh with the "Ole Fart". So many memories..
