Growing up at the C&I houses on Cardiff Road in the 50’s and 60’s — it was a great time to be a kid. We kids had playmates of any age to fit your age group. And the parents were as responsible for our wellbeing as any parent would or should be. The Russell family was no exception. With woods and fields and other areas to explore and enjoy, we kids had it made. And our experiences were magnified by certain members of the adult community and one member in particular was “Peg” Russell, who, with her husband,Bob, invented ways to keep us kids occupied and safe while we all played together. And their relationship with our parents grew even stronger. I can truly say that Peg was as much of a mother to me as she was to her own children. My heart goes out to Teri, Cathy and Tommy and all their family members on this loss. Take comfort in knowing that God has her together with Bob and the entire family, and someday all will be reunited. As long as you keep her memory in your heart she will be with you throughout your life. May the peace of our Lord be with you Always. Ed and Brenda Thompson. C&I kids (me) forever.
