So many moments, so many memories and we are all so grateful...thank you for investing in my family's lives, they will always cherish your kindness. You have shared your stories, your boat, quads, fishing equipment, and so much more with my family so they could have a memory and it is our honor to call you more than our uncle, but our Friend. You have demonstrated how to love God, love your family and love your friends - your Legacy is forever etched in our minds and hearts. You are loved and will be missed but know one day we will all be together in our Father's home - we will see you again some day. Heaven has received a very special person. God's blessing and favor to all who wait to see you again; to Aunt Jackie, cousin Ed, Joyce and families, we love you and pray blessings and favor on you all.
Any God says...I hear your cries, I feel your pain. I have not forgotten you. I know that you may not understand all that I do and allow, but I AM always in control. Out of your hurt, I will bring great joy....hold on during these difficult days ahead. Everything is going to be alright. Put your faith and trust in me like never before. Be still and know that I am here...I Am God!

I could never put into words or describe what “Mr. Simmons” and the whole Simmons family, extended family, has meant to me in my lifetime. There is no thanks just enough when a thoughtful person realigns all your priorities and puts you on a right and just path. You took me in as a lost and confused kid, unselfishly and without hesitation, never to made me feel like an outsider, but moreover like another loved son. I will miss you terribly Mr. Simmons but your example I will always try to emulate. You will live on inside of me until its my turn to join you at heavens gates. Then we will hit the big woods once again.
May you rest in peace -
S

So many wonderful memories of Uncle Ed- conversations seemed to always be centered around his love for family, flying, hunting, boating or camping. One of my favorite memories was at Joyce’s wedding- Shane,Ashley and Elizabeth were getting a bit antsy- too much waiting- so Uncle Ed went into story mode and began the story of The Wide Mouth Frog- the 3 kids were totally into his version of the story - and didn’t budge till it was time for the wedding. Ed always made time for the little ones! Uncle Ed also liked to sing his song at family functions- sometimes pulling in others- I think it was “ Kansas City”(?). The love that our family has for Raystown goes back to the many years that our families camped together- I will always remember Ed as the one that started our boating passion!
Thankful for the times together and all the fun family memories. Till we see you again……….

I will always remember Ed for his keen intellect and sharp wit…but he also had a very soft side. Big Ed had a very big heart and a very deep faith. Family and friends were important to him and he loved them dearly. Ed was always full of surprises. I will never forget when he picked up an electric guitar one day at a family gathering and started jamming! “Simmons Lane” will live in infamy! Ed Simmons was loved by many…may his memory be eternal!

Ed and I were neighbors in NJ, friends, and co-workers. We flew the jets for TWA and American Airlines. We shared many hours talking of airline stories and experiences traveling the world and getting paid for it! We both were avid hunters and it seemed to be a similar story how we had the "Big One" in our sights, but it got away!
The neighborhood in NJ was sad to see Ed and Jackie return to their roots in PA, but we were happy for them, as well.
Rest in Peace Ed
THE DAY GOD CALLED YOU HOME
God looked around his Garden
and found an empty place.
He then looked down upon his earth
and saw your loving face.
He put his arms around you
and lifted you to rest.
His Garden must be beautiful,
he always takes the best.
He knew that you were suffering,
he knew you were in pain.
And knew that you would never
get well on earth again.
He saw your path was difficult,
he closed your tired eyes,
He whispered to you "Peace be Thine"
and gave you wings to fly.
When we saw you sleeping
so calm and free of pain,
We would not wish you back to earth
to suffer once again.
You've left us precious memories,
your love will be our guide,
You live on through your children,
you're always by our side.
It broke our hearts to lose you,
but you did not go alone.
For part of us went with you
on the day God called you home.

My Dad was the best father. He loved God, family, flying, hunting, and fishing. He showed me how to love all these things but more he taught me what was right and what is important in life. I will see him again. ( and I’m pretty sure it will seem like only a moment to him even if it takes me 30 years of our time)
